An ode to the Italian tradition of the Opera, Masque Milano tells an olfactory story with a dynamic repertoire of fragrances that bring to life a myriad of emotions. Each Act, an interpretation of the different facets of life.
ACT I – A collection of experiences, discoveries, places and journeys. Every fragrance in this Act represents a “smellscape”.
Russian Tea is inspired by Alessandro and Ricardo’s trip to Russia, the “Russian Tea Ritual” in particular.
It is a journey, a day spent in snow-covered Nevsky Prospekt with a boiling Samovar, reigning inside an elegant cafe in a sumptuous Art Noveau building as the centre of socialization and sharing. The tea ritual showcases the teapot, black tea in leaves, fresh mint, raspberry preserve.
As water is poured in the cup, the infusion unleashes its most characteristic notes. Black tea, heavy and intense with a sharp and biting floral note – its smell is strong, diffusing all around the house. It also evokes the journey of the tea through Siberia with an unmistakably dry and smoky aftertaste given by the caravanserai campfires meant to keep the precious tea cargo dry, and the never-ending transportation in harsh conditions, interpreted by woody and leathery notes. The fresh mint leaves give a pleasant fresh touch to the hot water and it blends incredibly well with the smokiness. A hint of raspberry preserve and cinnamon sweeten, without altering the bitter aftertaste of leather and birch.
Sip it slowly, gazing out of the wide window, towards the beautiful cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan and beyond. The Russian Tea Ritual carries you to an unexpected journey in remote lands, full of mystery and fascination.
